"If San Diego LISC didn't exist, we would have to invent the organization, because national grant resources that need a local administrator would simply pass us by. San Diego LISC plays a key role in getting reinvestment back into our neglected communities."

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a national organization dedicated to helping transform neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities of choice and opportunity – good places to live, do business, work and raise families.
We provide services such as financing, capacity building support, training, and technical assistance for a variety of projects and organizations in San Diego neighborhoods. Our programs include:
- Project Financing: LISC provides loan financing for comprehensive neighborhood revitalization projects including, but not limited to, affordable housing, commercial development, community facilities, and educational facilities. In addition, a LISC affiliate provides Equity Financing through the Loan Income Housing Tax Credit and New Market Tax Credit programs.
- Capacity Financing: LISC strengthens community based organizations by building the capacity of these organizations to take on comprehensive neighborhood revitalization projects. Local capacity building programs include our Capacity Building Program and LISC AmeriCorps Program.
- Training and Technical Assistance: San Diego LISC further supports neighborhood revitalization efforts and organizational capacity building through a wide variety of training opportunities, including our Housing Development Training Institute program. We are also a technical assistance provider.
- National LISC Programs: As part of a National organization, San Diego LISC is able to bring additional resources and technical assistance to San Diego, including the NFL Grassroots Program.
