PROGRAMS

National LISC Programs

As part of a national organization, San Diego LISC is able to bring additional resources and technical assistance to San Diego, including the NFL Grassroots Program, the Center for Commercial Revitalization, the Community Safety Initiative, and the Educational Facilities Financing Center

NFL Grassroots Program

The NFL Youth Football Fund Grassroots Program is a partnership of the National Football League Youth Football Fund (NFL YFF) and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations, middle schools and high schools with financing and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields.  For more information on the NFL Grassroots Program, click here.

Center for Commercial Revitalization

LISC established the Center for Commercial Revitalization (CCR) in 2003 to stimulate development and renewal of neighborhood business districts. It currently manages a network of local community business district revitalization programs across the country. Information on this national program can be found here.

Community Safety Initiative

LISC’s Community Safety Initiative (CSI) builds long-term partnerships among law enforcement, developers, and other key parties in troubled communities to reduce persistent crime, disorder and fear.  CSI has been the catalyst for physical improvements and strategies that have reduced crime, increased public confidence and attracted new businesses. Information on this national program can be found here

Educational Facilities Financing Center

The Educational Facilities Financing Center (EFFC) at LISC supports quality public charter and alternative schools in low-income neighborhoods. To further its mission of helping community organizations transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy ones, LISC founded the EFFC in 2003 to intensify its efforts in the area of educational facilities financing. Information on this national program can be found here.
