Where We Work

LISC is a national organization with a community focus.

Our program staff is based in every city and many of the rural areas where LISC-supported community development takes shape. In collaboration with local community development organizations, LISC staff helps identify local priorities and challenges, delivering the most appropriate support to meet the needs. Presently, LISC operates in 30 cities and urban areas across America.

LISC also established Rural LISC in 1995 to support rural partners revitalize their counties, districts and communities. Rural LISC is headquartered in Washington, DC with field staff working directly with community groups across the country. Presently, Rural LISC works with 61 rural community partners in 31 states.

In late 2005, LISC established the Gulf Region Rebuilding program in response to the devastation caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, LISC is working with local community partners in Louisiana, Mississippi, and the coastal regions of Florida and Texas to rebuild homes and support returning residents.
