LISC's national programs are also working in partnership with city and state governments to develop appropriate strategies and tools to rebuild devastated neighborhoods and rural areas.
- LISC's Housing Authority Resource Center (HARC) and NEF together are helping housing authorities in Mississippi and Louisiana apply for housing credits – an important step to create additional affordable rental housing.
- LISC's Community Investment Collaborative for Kids (CICK) has a contract with Louisiana's Department of Social Services to target $7.5 million in federal funds to rebuild child care centers.
- LISC's Vacant Properties Initiative is advising the City of New Orleans and community groups there on strategies to develop both land banks and property and land acquisition practices.
