National Community Stabilization Trust

In 2008, LISC co-sponsored the creation of the National Community Stabilization Trust along with Enterprise Community Partners, the Housing Partnership Network, NeighborWorks America, the National Council of La Raza, and the National Urban League to facilitate the transfer of foreclosed and abandoned homes from financial institutions to local housing providers. The Stabilization Trust’s REO Property Acquisition Program provides a systematic, predictable, and transparent means of moving properties from large financial institutions directly to community-based housing organizations.
