Research and DataLISC’s Research and Assessment department is a critical piece of LISC’s foreclosure response efforts around the country, providing data and maps to support the development of locally tailored neighborhood strategies. In 2009, LISC, in collaboration with the Center for Housing Policy and the Urban Institute, launched Foreclosure-Response.org, an online guide to foreclosure prevention and neighborhood stabilization that provides information about foreclosure effects, case studies of local policies, and neighborhood-level mortgage data to support decision-making. LISC’s Research and Assessment department recently developed a downloadable Market Strength Index and Foreclosure Risk Matrix that is available through Foreclosure-Response.org. The datasets, along with an accompanying users’ guide, can help localities in defining target areas and setting neighborhood stabilization priorities. |
