LISC offers community development corporations and other organizations involved in neighborhood revitalization three types of products: grants and loans; information resources; and technical assistance. The combination of those products has, over the years, proved highly effective in making neighborhoods better and stronger.

The loans, lines of credit and recoverable grants are typically available to help finance for-sale and rental housing, community facilities, schools, health care facilities, playing fields, and economic development projects.

Information resources — including the LISC Online Resource Library, which provides easy access to knowledge-building information on a wide range of topics relevant to community development, and Experts Online, an interactive forum for professional discussion among industry experts and local practitioners — give practitioners access to the latest thinking and research in the community development field.

LISC’s technical assistance, in the form of training programs and organizational development, is critical in helping CDCs negotiate the complicated world of real estate development.
