River East Economic Revitalization Corporation

Serving all of East Toledo in the boundaries of Rossford, Northwood and Oregon since 1974

Mission
“Create and maintain an environment, which is conducive to creating a positive climate for economic development in East Toledo, and its primary business district, River East. We achieve this through continued education and leadership in assisting businesses and individuals with their employment needs. Specifically, we aim to not only maintain our existing employment, but to create new jobs through our business assistance programs and continued redevelopment and reuse of existing buildings and vacant land. Particularly brownfield sites, coupled with operating small business incubators.”

Priorities for 2004-2005

* Rehab another floor in one of our facilities for another small business start up facility
* Market another facility for high tech internet and fiber optic cables
* Fast track the “Main Street” program and meet with the various sub-committees in the economic development segment of this process

Proudest Achievement

The Docks in International Park. This consisted of rehabilitating an old warehouse (30,000+ square feet) into five great restaurants on the waterfront overlooking the Toledo skyline. The investment was $13 million from private, city and federal dollars. It has become a major attraction for visitors and local residents.
