Housing

Washington Village Estates

We believe everyone should have access to affordable housing. LISC works with CDCs to provide housing – for renters and owners – that meets the needs of those who are on tighter budgets. CDCs use funds to develop economically diverse housing, commercial and industrial projects and implement innovative programs to meet the needs of the local community. As a result of these programs, the quality of life of the neighborhood residents is improved. Strong residential neighborhoods are created for families. Children can go outside and play without concern.

When Toledo LISC works with community residents, government officials and the private sector, the dream of home ownership, safe neighborhoods and economically strong communities becomes a reality. Since 1989, Toledo LISC has helped to revitalize neighborhoods and the city by investing in:

CDC-sponsored affordable housing development for rental properties and down-payment assistance to make the dream of home ownership a reality for low- and moderate-income families. To truly restore distressed neighborhoods, LISC and the community development organizations promote housing diversity. Houses of varying values are located in close proximity, resulting in strong, diverse communities. Economic development programs that have created more than 500,000 square feet of commercial space.
