LISC Upstate SC opened in mid-2019 and is focused on the areas listed below, providing support to partners to drive progress:
- Workforce development that helps people build the skills and credentials they need to compete for living-wage jobs with pathways to growth
- Support for small business development, with capital and management expertise
- Affordable housing and commercial development strategies and investments
- Capacity-building and training for civic and community leadership

Affordable Housing
LISC Upstate helps make quality, affordable housing available to low-income and vulnerable residents by providing capital in nearly every aspect of development.
Economic Development
We fund initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, attract in new businesses, diversify the local retail market, and stimulate employment in South Carolina’s cities.
Safety and Justice
LISC Upstate focuses on areas with a high crime rate as well as specific streets or intersections where crime is a significant issue.
Capacity Building
LISC Upstate helps local organizations develop into reputable, strong organizations that can carry out a range of community revitalization projects.
