The Washington, DC LISC program is a site of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the largest community development support organization in the country.

Mission:  To help community based organizations create healthy neighborhoods that are good places to live, work, raise children and conduct business.

5 Core Goals: 

• Increase the availability of quality affordable housing

• Increase household income assets and wealth

• Increase the availability of quality goods, services and jobs in neighborhoods

• Improve access to early childhood learning and out-of-school time resources and activities

• Improve access to and increase the availability of resources/opportunities for healthy living (wellness, arts, recreation, open space, medical care, green, food and nutrition,  youth and senior services)
