Local Advisory Committee

Each LISC site is supported by a Local Advisory Committee (LAC) composed of people from various backgrounds and professions, including banking, real estate development, philanthropy, law, research and nonprofit management.   

Responsibilities include:

- Set policies for the operations of the Washington, DC LISC Program;
- Maintain oversight to ensure the integrity and success of the local program;
- Attend LAC meetings; review materials prior to meetings and actively participate in the meetings;
- Review and approve loans and grant program actions;
- Act as a spokesperson for LISC and the community development/neighborhood revitalization field;
- Open doors and avenues for communication and public relations;
- Support and encourage the Director and staff;
- Provide funding and assist with fundraising.
