*1314 K Street Apartments
Acquisition and rennovation of the 12-unit 1314 K Street Apartments to be preserved as long term affordable housing. LISC provided a $72,525 predevelopment loan.
*Ventures in Faith Senior Housing
Redevelopment of a long vacant apartment building at East Capitol and 17th Streets SE into 15-18 units of affordable senior citizen rental housing. Currently in the predevelopment phase. LISC provided a $100,000 predevelopment loan. (Ventures in Faith, Inc.)
320 K Street NE 
Rehabilitation of 2 units at 320 K Street NE into “green” affordable housing. Some of the green features include soy based foam installation, low-e and argon filled windows, voc-free paints, and high efficiency furnace. Both units are sold. LISC provided $55,000 in grant support. (Manna, Inc)
Higher Achievement Program 
Relocation from its current space in Gonzaga High School to larger headquarters at 317 8th St., NE. The 5000 sq. ft. building has been completely renovated for their specific and unique needs. They moved in summer 2005. LISC provided a $631,050 acquisition loan and a $50,000 capacity building grant for two years. (Higher Achievement Program)
Ben and Jerry’s Franchise 
Purchase of a Ben and Jerry’s franchise as an employment center for young adults and source of revenue by the Latin American Youth Center. LISC provided a $50,000 recoverable grant. The franchise was purchased December, 2001 and is open for business. (Latin American Youth Center)
