LISC Boston invites our partners and interested non-profit organizations to submit an application to host a full-time, 1700-hour AmeriCorps member or a summer-service, 300-hour member. Additional information is below. The deadline to apply is September 12.

About the Program

Members are funded through our national LISC AmeriCorps program via an application to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). LISC Boston is supporting 10 (ten) full-time 1700-hour and 2 (two) minimum-time 300-hour AmeriCorps positions for investment in our neighborhoods. the LISC AmeriCorps program seeks to provide our local, community-based partners the opportunity to implement projects which they could not otherwise. As a partner, you will provide critical support in acting as career coaches and mentors to the individuals selected to be members. For 2019 - 2020, LISC Boston is highly interested in supporting organizations that will utilize AmeriCorps members to advance their capacity to improve community health by addressing one or more of the social determinants of health.

Some examples might include, but are certainly not limited to the following:

An organization seeks a member to develop or advance a workforce development program focused on a career pathway, addressing economic stability as a social determinant of health, in the field of healthcare working with one or more health care institutions as potential employers and partners.
An organization seeks a member to advance strategies for tracking the health outcomes and/or cost savings associated with a strategy, program or project that addresses one or more social determinant of health.
An organization seeks a member to develop an innovative, targeted social determinants of health strategy for addressing one or more high priority health needs of a community (i.e., chronic homelessness or housing displacement, opioid dependence, lack of transportation, need for behavioral health services).
An organization that owns or is developing real estate in its community seeks a member to help incorporate a health care facility, long-term supportive services strategy, healthy food market, workforce training/financial opportunity center or other social determinants of health intervention in the development.
