LISC National
Where We Work

Rural Communities

The local office also works in collaboration with Rural LISC in counties across the region. We have forged partnerships with Prairieland Council CDC (Mason County), Rural Peoria Coalition of Municipalities and Townships (Peoria County), the Illinois Community Action Development Corporation (Illinois statewide), and Mattoon in Motion (Coles County).

The primary objective of LISC's rural work in the region, stemming from LISC's comprehensive development strategy, is to improve rural areas of Central Illinois through the implementation of community and economic development projects or programs via professional staffing and a rural governing board.

Mason County

  • Provide technical assistance to Mason County to facilitate financing of development projects using LISC loan products, New Markets Tax Credits, USDA and SBA financing.
  • LISC is partnered with Prairieland Council and and recently closed on a LISC loan to complete an assisted living facility in Manito, IL.

Peoria County

  • Provide technical assistance to Peoria County to facilitate financing of development project using LISC loan products, New Markets Tax Credits, USDA and SBA financing.
  • LISC provided technical assistance to form a new non-profit, the Rural Peoria County Coalition of Municipalities and Townships. The RPCCMT is now eligible to receive funding from organizations like LISC and other sources.
