LISC Names Michael T. Pugh as CEO
With 30 years of experience in banking, most recently as president and CEO of Carver Bancorp, Pugh will lead LISC’s national network of programs and offices, as well as comprehensive investment strategies that address gaps in health, wealth and opportunity across the country. “He is passionate about extending opportunities to people who have not had the chance to fully participate in the American economy,” said Robert E. Rubin, LISC’s chairman. “We look forward to him bringing his considerable skills to LISC to help us make lasting, positive impact.”
Memphis Home Empowerment Loan Program (901HELP)
LISC Memphis and the City of Memphis Division of Housing & Community Development officially launched the Memphis Home Empowerment Loan Program (901HELP). This program will allow Memphis homeowners with low to moderate incomes to apply for low-interest, home repair loans up to $25,000. NFL/LISC Grassroots Program + Tennessee Titans grant $50,000 for Freedom Preparatory Academy (FPA) Charter School’s Brownlee Road Campus
The Tennessee Titans recently partnered with the National Football League (NFL) Grassroots Program to award Freedom Preparatory Academy (FPA) Charter Schools $50,000 to install bleachers, lighting, and a scoreboard at their Brownlee Road campus in the Whitehaven neighborhood. The award is part of $3 million in field refurbishment awards allocated across the nation in 2023.
