What is ACRE?

The Associates in Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) Program is an industry-supported initiative that recruits and retains people of color for careers in commercial real estate. The goal of the ACRE is to expand minority representation in the commercial real estate fields of development, property management, and construction management. This program offers students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of these industries while creating a valuable network of fellow students, ACRE graduates and industry professionals.

“ ACRE provided a perfect blend of real estate theory and practice. It also provided access to people, places, and information that could otherwise take years to get access to outside of the program.”
— Felix Castro, 2017 Graduate

ACRE is a 26-week program that runs from September through May. The 26-week program includes working with experienced professionals to provide a better understanding of the real estate industry as well as a hands-on approach to develop experience. Typical ACRE students have some college training and several years of business experience. Instructors include industry leaders in related fields. Key contributors include The Mandel Group and The Opus Group Foundation.

The ACRE program was created by Professor Mark Eppli and the Marquette University College of Business in 2005 and is now administered through LISC Milwaukee in partnership with Marquette University, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
