LISC hosted Derrick Braziel and William Thomas, co-founders of a Cincinnati-based program called MORTAR, to explore bringing the entrepreneurial training and development program to Milwaukee.
MORTAR enables under-served entrepreneurs and businesses to succeed; creating opportunities to build communities through entrepreneurship through a cohort model and place-based innovations like pop-up shops for emerging business owners. A morning charrette was held for groups making up the eco-system focused on urban entrepreneurs, and the afternoon session was specifically designed for entrepreneurs.
Event co-hosts included the City of Milwaukee’s Office of Small Business Development and the Greater Milwaukee Committee. Thank you Derrick and William for your energy and expertise!
