Who We Are

LISC NY supports local partners across New York State whose services and programs aim to create a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable New York.  LISC NY’s investment strategy is guided by three pillars:

• Radical healing that counters racial bias and inequity, including through community safety, creative placemaking, and arts initiatives;
• Inclusive economic transformation that prioritizes human talent, community health, diverse enterprises, innovation, and public infrastructure; and
• Sustainable wealth generation in communities of color, including through ownership, asset building, and career ladders.

LISC NY believes that the time has come to forge a future for New York that eradicates the racial wealth gap for good, protects affordable housing, and builds pathways of meaningful economic opportunity for all New Yorkers.

Who We Work With

We partner with non-profit community-based organizations, connecting them with civic leaders and change makers across government, financial institutions, and philanthropy. We create and implement solutions that align financial resources, ideas, and best practices to advance community development initiatives, leveraging our broad national network of LISC programs and expertise.

Why We Do It

Healthy, resilient, inclusive neighborhoods don't just happen.  They are the products of purposeful action taken over many generations.  We view our neighborhood partners as essential community stewards, and our values are rooted in the same social justice movement from which they emerged.  We bring them our commitment, technical skill, and a willingness to grapple with their most meaningful challenges.
