Growing Taproots: Anchor Institutions and Community Development

November 6, 2019

2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

In this webinar, tied to LISC Research and Evaluation’s recent impact paper, panelists will reflect on ways that partnerships between health anchors and community development organizations can help realize equitable neighborhood outcomes. After a brief presentation of LISC’s research, which provides rigorous evidence that strategic investments and anchor strategies in South Minneapolis led to revitalization – but not to an acceleration of housing costs – panelists from Brigham Health, Democracy Collaborative, and Project for Pride in Living will reflect on how to develop and sustain authentic community partnerships

Anyone interested in how health anchors can support equitable development goals through partnering with the community development sector should attend.

Speakers will include:

  • David M. Greenberg, Director of Research and Evaluation, LISC
  • Wanda McClain, Vice President, Community Health and Equity, Brigham Health
  • Nate Stephens, Manager, Anchor Collaborative Network, Democracy Collaborative
  • Paul D. Williams, President and CEO, Project for Pride in Living, Minneapolis
