Bridges to Career Opportunities Evaluation Event

For over six years, LISC’s Bridges to Career Opportunities (Bridges) program has expanded access to career and training pathways in disinvested communities. Through Bridges, participants working with our national network of Financial Opportunity Center® (FOC) partners can ramp up foundational literacy and math skills, get technical training and pursue certifications for in-demand industries—and receive support like financial coaching to set long-term goals and help manage expenses during training. Bridges connects participants to career pathways and helps local employers staff up with employees who can get the job done. With investment from the Citi Foundation, the program is now active in 40 partner agencies in 19 cities.

Through a 2015 award from the Social Innovation Fund (now AmeriCorps) which seeded and scaled the program, LISC worked with Abt Associates to conduct a multi-year implementation and impact study of the Bridges program. With the report now complete, we are pleased to share our virtual event with the lead researcher and a panel of thought leaders reflecting on how the results will inform work in the future.
