NEW YORK (Oct. 3, 2022)—LISC has named Miranda L. Jones, a veteran human resources strategist, as its new senior vice president for people and culture.

Jones will oversee LISC’s talent development and traditional human resources functions as well as leading internal efforts to promote diversity and inclusion—ensuring LISC’s own operations continue to align with its external work to bridge racial gaps in health, wealth and opportunity throughout the country.

“Our belief in equity and justice is not just about LISC investments and programs, like Project 10X. It is also how we view our internal operations, so that our staff is well supported to help drive economic opportunity throughout the country,” said Lisa Glover, LISC CEO.

“That’s why we’re so excited to have Miranda join our senior management team,” she continued. “She is a dynamic leader who prioritizes the well-being of employees and the excellence of operations. She understands the value of inclusion, and she shares our sense of purpose to help families and communities flourish.”

Jones most recently served as senior vice president for human resources at Planned Parenthood of Maryland. She also served in senior health care leadership positions earlier in career, helping develop and lead HR work for such organizations as Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates and Chase Brexton Health Services, both in Maryland.

“There was a time when people thought about HR departments as keepers of corporate processes and procedures,” said Jones. “And, while important, that isn’t nearly enough. An inclusive, compassionate approach to staffing and operations is actually a key driver of growth. Especially at an organization like LISC, where people are so passionate about justice, it is critical that we nurture a culture of talent and innovation, where creative ideas can become impactful programs and help build a more equitable, broadly shared prosperity throughout the country. I’m so excited to be a part of that effort.”

LISC’s staff includes more than 500 employees supporting local work in 38 metro area program sites, a national rural investment program working in more than 2,000 counties, and a range of research, investment management, fundraising and policy functions that promote economic opportunity and growth for underserved communities nationwide.
