When the COVID-19 pandemic began, LISC Philadelphia was starting to plan our 40th Anniversary Celebration. Understanding the immediate and emergent needs of our community, we decided to postpone our celebrations until 2021. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our supporters who understood the urgency of our work, and allowed us to shift their funds to COVID-19 Relief and Recovery.
Wells Fargo is the lead supporter for LISC Philadelphia's COVID-19 Relief work. Wells Fargo has a long legacy of serving and supporting communities, and we have long been one of the most generous corporate foundations in the U.S. The company, through its business and the Wells Fargo Foundation, uses its resources and expertise to solve complex societal problems and pave a path to stability and financial success for underserved communities.
Long-Term Recovery LISC continues to work alongside cross-sector institutions, assessing needs, and coordinating efforts to support our nonprofit partners that provide crucial, safety-net services as well as support impacted residents. Our long-term COVID relief and assistance is designed to complement the work of public health and government efforts, by expanding local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently, and effectively as possible.
As we transition to long-term recovery, LISC will remain active in lifting-up our non-profit and community partners; paying close attention our most vulnerable neighborhoods, families, and residents.
