Rural LISC currently works with 146 community-based organizations in more than 2,400 counties in 49 states plus Puerto Rico, helping them identify challenges and opportunities, and delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs. Rural LISC supports Partners through capacity building grants, loans and equity investments, training and technical assistance, public policy advocacy, and a support network that connects community-based rural groups to each other. Rural LISC also generates resources for its Partners to invest in their work.

Over the last 26 years, Rural LISC’s investments in its Partners have totaled $2.75 billion in capacity building grants, predevelopment and repayable investments, low-cost loan funds, lines of credit, and equity and bridge tax credit financing funded by LISC affiliates including National Equity Fund, Inc. (NEF) and New Markets Support Company (NMSC). ​Rural LISC has leveraged this investment, bringing $5.1 billion from public and private sources, to:

  • produce 52,904 affordable homes and apartments
  • create 8.8 million square feet of commercial and community space
  • assist 2,867 businesses
  • create 21,553 jobs
  • support 20 early childhood centers

By generating resources and investing in their local efforts, Rural LISC is committed to providing support for our Partners and their communities, making them good places to live, work, do business and raise children.
