Mississippi Nonprofit Resiliency Fund

Supporting Nonprofits in the Mississippi Delta

A commitment of $500,000 from The Walton Family Foundation and Hearst Foundations is making it possible for LISC to serve families and nonprofit organizations in Mississippi by providing emergency relief grants to nonprofits facing immediate financial threat because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funding will go to make grants of up to $10,000 to help cover the operational costs of nonprofits like paying employees, covering rent, and meeting the growing technological needs of a remote workforce or web-based service model.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Grants are available to nonprofit organizations in the 27 Mississippi Delta counties of Adams, Bolivar, Carroll, Claiborne, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leflore, Madison, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica, Warren, Washington, Wilkinson, Yalobusha and Yazoo.
  • Twenty-five percent of fund dollars are set aside for organizations based and serving Coahoma County.
  • Organizations must have been established for at least 12 months.
  • Each awardee is limited to one grant.
  • Grants will be made to qualified nonprofit organizations and based on accurate and complete submission and verification of required documentation.

Only a small number of grants will be available and therefore the application window is now closed.
