LISC National

Our Work

For almost four decades, the LISC has been one of the largest community support organizations in the country. In 1995, it established a rural program to help struggling communities spread across huge swaths of the country to preserve their way of life and respond to new challenges.

By partnering with 88 rural nonprofit community-based organizations in 45 states, Rural LISC helps residents identify priorities and opportunities – and delivers the most appropriate support to meet local needs.

Through the Strategies We Pursue, Rural LISC supports Partners in:

An additional important aspect of the Rural LISC program is a developing series of Special Initiatives.
