Since 1980, the U.S. has sustained 258+ weather and climate disasters where the overall damage costs approximately $2 trillion. Rural LISC's response strategy is to provide immediate relief through grants, loans, and longer-term TA to help small businesses, non-profits, and rural municipalities recover and think through longer-term economic development positioning pre and post disaster.

Program priorities include:

Small business preparedness and recovery
Supporting community-led disaster recovery efforts
Providing technical assistance to our network of partners so they may effectively participate in disaster-related efforts for their communities
