LISC is one of the country’s largest community development organizations, helping forge vibrant, resilient communities across America. We have been supporting communities for more than 40 years, and have offices in 38 cities and a presence in more than 2,400 rural counties. Since 1979, we have invested more than $29.7 billion across the country, which in turn leveraged more than $82 billion in investments to catalyze opportunity in low-wealth communities—by providing greater access to safe affordable housing; a chance to land satisfying, living-wage work; a healthy, equitable small business ecosystem; a safe place for children to learn, play and grow; and an opportunity to build wealth. These investments have built and preserved almost 490,000 affordable homes and apartments and created more than 81.5 million square feet in retail, commercial and community space.
