This LISC research report provides rigorous evidence about the impact of our investments, and the work of both community organizations and “anchor institutions.” In South Minneapolis, strong community partnerships and commitments from hospitals and corporations stabilized and boosted home values, without contributing to accelerating prices and gentrification.
Dr. Eric Anthony Johnson, Community Development Director for the City of Bloomington, is one of this year’s winners of the Michael Rubinger Community Fellowship award. The members of this third cohort of the program are passionately committed to leveling barriers that stand in the way of equity for our country’s most vulnerable populations.
Two local nonprofits, CAPI USA and Build Weath MN, have been awarded capacity building grants and technical support to join the Twin Cities Financial Opportunity Center network and provide services that help individuals increase their incomes, improve their credit, and build financial stability.
