LISC Launches Livability Planning

Centering Community Voices

LISC works with community organizations, business groups, and residents, to link neighborhoods with the tools and resources they need to thrive. Amid the pandemic and racial justice activism spaces in which we are living, LISC WNY remains committed to launching our Livability & Neighborhood Business programs centered on these very issues. Our first series of virtual conversations will take place on July 7th, 8th, and 9th.

The goal of these conversations is to focus on learning more about how we can be responsive to the effects of the pandemic in our communities and what specific projects the community would like to see happen in the recovery phase. We will work with neighborhood groups to develop a list of catalytic projects that can be prioritized when relief or stimulus funding is made available. LISC WNY plans to support the implementation of those ideas this summer.

This is the first of many conversations and in-depth action oriented engagement process in which we plan to learn neighborhood goals now and for the future. We want to know how we can best prepare to get the resources needed to these neighborhoods.

LISC WNY is a collective impact organization that works with nonprofit groups, business districts, anchor institutions, and resident groups to align priorities so that districts are positioned to access future investment.
