The charter school building is the second-most expensive teaching tool in a school's budget. How can you make sure it's designed and built to last? This panel focuses on the many ways facilities will change over the next ten to twenty years as our understanding of student needs changes. Will the lessons we have learned with virtual teaching impact future school designs? How do you secure a facility that is both sustainable and adaptable to new circumstances? Will technology continue to play a larger role in the classroom, and will your infrastructure be ready? Green space is being reimagined, common areas are changing, and our whole concept of a classroom is evolving. Charter schools have proven their ability to adapt quickly, but it will be important to think NOW about facility upgrades and expansions over the next twenty years.
