Collaborative Fundraising Structure and Analysis, BDO Alliance

LISC San Antonio is seeking a Consultant to document and describe processes, structure, and opportunities to address the need for collaborative fundraising for the San Antonio Business Development Organization (BDO) Alliance (see attached BDO Alliance Structure and Governance). The BDO Alliance consists of seven member organizations: Maestro, Centro, San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE), Southside First, Culturingua, Prosper West and American Indians in Texas at The Spanish Colonial Missions (AITSCM).

Consultant should document the primary goals and constraints of each BDO Alliance member around engaging in the fundraising work. Consultant is expected to propose a sustainable partnership model for collaborative fundraising – expanding on current sources of funding, as well as identifying new sources – at the local, state, regional, and national level. Selected Consultant is expected to meet with BDO Alliance member organizations, funders, and partners in documenting the scale, scope and impact of a collaborative fundraising model. Consultant will recommend actions needed to achieve a sustainable model for collaborative fundraising and identify potentially new sources of funding. Consultant recommendations should include but are not limited to:

  • BDO Alliance member roles and responsibilities;
  • Points of coordination within the system;
  • New partners to be engaged, especially funders;
  • Strategies for aligning BDO Alliance members with common goals;
  • Suggested elements of partnership agreements or memoranda of understanding between partners; and
  • Structural or policy changes that make funding opportunities more accessible to the BDO Alliance.

While Consultant should make recommendations regarding sustainable funding, Consultant is not responsible for fund development. Please include a current CV or resume with your response and at least two references. Please also indicate your ability to complete requested services, including providing a written report and summary slide presentation of findings and recommendations, by December 15, 2023.
