New “RISE” Program for Entrepreneurs Launched June 18th

Milwaukee entrepreneurs celebrate! “RISE” is a new program that focuses on enabling underserved entrepreneurs through education, guidance and mentorship. Based on MORTAR, a highly successful Cincinnati business accelerator, RISE is a 14-week program designed to ensure emerging businesses get off to a great start. The curriculum focuses on inventory, branding, and strengthening business networks, tools and resources. RISE will be operated by the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin and is supported through a strategic partnership with LISC Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Urban League as a part of a broader initiative to strengthen small businesses and economic growth in downtown-adjacent commercial districts. 

RISE Program Applications for Cohort 1 will begin distribution on Friday, June 8, 2018. Deadline for consideration is Friday, June 29, 2018. Classes will be held at the Milwaukee Urban League and begin on Monday, July 9, 2018.
