Thrive: Celebrating 40 Years of Community Development

Thursday, October 13th, we brought together changemakers from our neighborhoods, community-based organizations, and corporate, philanthropic, and civic institutions who work tirelessly to empower our communities. Thrive, Kansas City’s signature community development celebration, is a one-of-a-kind experience.

For 40 years, LISC Greater Kansas City has been a convener, investor and thought-leader in our region. Since 1981, we have invested nearly $200 million thru grants and loans, leveraging nearly $700 million that have helped to create over 5,000 new homes and nearly 2 million square feet of community and commercial space. Over the course of these last four decades, there have been so many people who have played a vital role in the success of this organization. We recently had the chance to sit down with a few of them, and talk more about the legacy, impact and importance of LISC, through their eyes.
