Thrive: Spotlight Grandview Park Presbyterian Church

We continue our Thrive: Spotlight this week with Grandview Park Presbyterian Church, which is nestled in the Prescott neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. The church was started in 1889 and has continued to be a cornerstone to the surrounding community.

Grandview Park Presbyterian Church has provided a food basket ministry for about 15 years, a ministry that moved from assisting about 30 families per month to 80 families per week after COVID-19 hit. The leadership is also steering community efforts around voter engagement and registration, as well as immigrant rights. The community’s ethnic makeup evolved over time and is now 65% Latinx, which is fostered by the dedication to bilingual worship and ministry, and racial and economic equity and justice through the church's 14 year-old organization AIRR (Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation.)

I wouldn’t want to be any other place than at this church, at this time, in this community.
