LISC AmeriCorps

The AmeriCorps Program is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects over 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to improve lives, strengthen communities and inspire civic engagement. Federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), LISC AmeriCorps has been placing AmeriCorps members with LISC’s community-based partners across the country since 1994, offer training, a stipend, benefits to members during their term of service, and an education award upon completion of service.

Through the LISC AmeriCorps program, LISC NY places AmeriCorps members at our local community based partners across New York City. Members support their placement by taking on projects related to affordable housing development and preservation, resident engagement, food insecurity, arts and culture, and economic development. While completing their service, members benefit from leadership and professional development training from the LISC AmeriCorps team, as well as with LISC NY.
