LISC provided a $1.20 million predevelopment loan for Phase 1 of the redevelopment of Park Morton, a 1960s public housing development in the rapidly-changing Park View neighborhood of D.C.’s Ward 1.  Phase 1 will deliver 43 replacement public housing units, as well as 105 LIHTC affordable homes for families earning between 50%-80% MFI. LISC's investment will help preserve and create affordable family housing in a high-amenity, transit-accessible neighborhood that has seen significant economic and demographic change over the last decade.  The new development will replace unsafe and unhealthy public housing and create new units for families that have called the neighborhood home for years.  Park Morton residents are predominately African American, and their neighborhood has seen a 35% drop in Black residents over the last decade.  Of the overall 148 units, 52 homes will be 2-BR, 3 homes will be 3-BR, and 1 home will be 4-BR, providing much needed family-sized housing in a high demand area of D.C.
