Wells Fargo "Open for Business" Client Story: MV Snacks and Sushi

Maria Vega started off selling her Mexican sushi and snacks out of her home, and by posting on Facebook and going where there was an opportunity to sell in different locations throughout the valley. She opened MV Snacks and Sushi seven years ago and continues to expand her menu based on the demands of her customers. She now sells Sonoran style sushi, a wide range of Mexican style snacks and the longing that so many neighbors miss from their home country, the beautiful state of Sonora, Mexico.

When the pandemic started, MV Snacks and Sushi had already gone through 3 years of the construction of the Light Rail, which was difficult. Covid spread across the globe, that posed a new and even more difficult challenge to overcome. RAIL, connected Maria to a $20,000 grant opportunity, which was critical to the survival of the business. Maria hadn’t seen profits for three years, but she always believed in her business and in myself.
