Neighbors Helping Neighborhoods Grant Program

As an extension of our Thriving Neighborhoods Initiative (TNI), LISC Greater Newark builds civic engagement and resident-led advocacy through technical assistance that helps our changemakers identify their needs, leverage and link their assets. Sponsored by the Victoria Foundation, the Neighbors Helping Neighborhoods (NHN) Grant Program was created to support resident-led ideas and project solutions that can ensure communities thrive.

Since its 2018 debut, LISC has awarded nearly 75 Neighbors Helping Neighborhoods (NHN) projects totaling over $300,000 for projects created by residents, for residents primarily completed in three target neighborhoods, strategically selected by TNI partners, Clinton Hill, Fairmount Heights, Lower Broadway.

In partnership with The Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ) in 2023 LISC supported more than 25 resident-led projects with up to $20,000 in grant funding.
