Senior Leadership Spotlight: Stephen Salazar Ceasar

Get to know the staff members that drive our work forward.

Meet Stephen Salazar Ceasar

Number of years at LISC LA: 1

What do you do at LISC LA:

I lead LISC LA's Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) initiative, supporting the expansion of pre-trial diversion programs and capacity building efforts with grassroots, community-based organizations that provide services to justice-involved people across Los Angeles County.

What LISC LA accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’d say two things. Our work to expand pre-trial diversion programs is a huge endeavor and our team has done an excellent job in making sure everything is in place to provide responsive services to folks in need. It’s also so meaningful to work with the organizations in the ATI Incubation Academy and to see our team do all they can to be supportive of groups who work so hard for their community.

Favorite thing to do in Los Angeles?

My wife and I love hiking at Debs Park in El Sereno and sitting by the pond up there on a Sunday morning watching the turtles.

Book you’re reading?

Halfway Home by Reuben Jonathan Miller

Favorite quote (include author)?

“El que come y canta, loco se levanta.” – My Nana

What are you most looking forward to at LISC?

I’m most looking forward to helping bring more investment and resources to the small grassroots organizations that provide crucial services to justice-involved people. Their success is vital to the success of justice-reform efforts in Los Angeles. I’m happy to play a role in supporting them.
