With the largest gift from an individual in LISC’s history, MacKenzie Scott is fueling transformative efforts to advance racial and economic justice and building a broadly shared prosperity throughout the country. Scott said organizations like LISC are “well-positioned to accelerate progress.”
“This effort demonstrates our community’s resiliency, the generosity of our neighbors and the strength of the region’s nonprofit organizations,” said Geoff Jolley, Executive Director of LISC Greater Kansas City. “We are all proud to be part of a region that does not hesitate to equitably support all its residents.”
The Advisory Board of the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund has announced its first wave of recipients. Over $2.6 million in aid will be sent to 56 area nonprofits for housing support, food assistance, access to healthcare, and other critical human services.
