About the project
Affordable Living for the Aging (ALA) was founded in 1978 by Janet L. Witkin. ALA's mission is to eliminate senior homelessness and early institutionalization by providing low-income seniors and other at-risk individuals with affordable housing and supportive services to keep those at risk of homelessness healthy, safe, and independent. ALA does this by working in partnerships with other health plan providers, community clinics, and community partners that focus on housing and health.
Primestor was founded in 1991 and has been focused on communities of color since its inception, as a certified Minority Business Enterprise. Primestor has completed real estate projects throughout the U.S., targeting historically underserved and underinvested, yet rapidly expanding, Latino and Black Communities. Their strategy is to invest in existing under-developed, undermanaged, or archaic product types and repurposed land parcels in dense, urban predominantly Latino American and Black communities in major California MSAs with an emphasis on Social Awareness, Sustainable Practices & Economic Development for and from within the communities they serve.
ALA is located in Los Angeles, CA. Primestor is located in Culver City, CA.
