About the project

Addiction Treatment Centers of New England (ATCNE) is a non-profit, outpatient opioid treatment program established in 1980, providing a safe and therapeutic environment where individuals may gain control over their substance use problems and learn alternatives to their addictive behaviors. ATCNE’s mission is to provide the highest quality of personalized and holistic care and services to individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. ATCNE utilizes all available modalities, including prevention, intervention, psychoeducation, and collaborative treatment planning so that the clients served may lead healthier and more productive lives.

ATCNE is based in Boston, MA and serves individuals from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

LISC provided $245,000 of permanent financing to support ATCNE's first property acquisition. The site, located at 49 Gardner Street in Boston, will provide a safe, stable home for individuals who are on the road to recovery. The property will house 10 ATCNE clients and one house manager. This loan was financed through the Harvard Local Housing Collaborative Fund, a specialized funding source that provides flexible, low-cost capital to support the preservation and new construction of affordable housing, mixed-income housing, for-sale housing and senior and supportive housing in Boston and Cambridge, MA.
