Kevin Hart’s Gran Coramino™ Tequila Brand and LISC Form Partnership to Fuel Growth for Black and Latinx Businesses

Gran Coramino Tequila selects LISC to be its first impact partner in the United States. LISC will work with Gran Coramino Tequila and its founders, Kevin Hart and Juan Domingo Beckmann, to help close racial wealth and opportunity gaps for Black and Latinx small businesses.

NEW YORK (June 29, 2022) — Gran Coramino, the tequila brand launched last month by comedian and entrepreneur Kevin Hart and 11th generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann, has selected the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to be its first impact partner in the United States.

As a part of its recent brand give-back, Gran Coramino Tequila will donate $1 for every bottle sold to a range of organizations that support aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses from diverse communities in the US and Mexico.

For its part, LISC will be working with Gran Coramino Tequila to develop a social impact program to drive growth for Black and Latinx small businesses, working to address wealth and opportunity gaps that have long affected diverse entrepreneurs across the US.

The Beckmann Foundation, Gran Coramino Tequila’s impact partner in Mexico, will spearhead efforts to support small businesses in the town of Tequila, which is located in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

“I admire the incredible work LISC and the Beckmann Foundation have done to advance communities in the US and Mexico and to support businesses for so many years.”
— Kevin Hart, Gran Coramino co-founder

“I admire the incredible work LISC and the Beckmann Foundation have done to advance communities in the US and Mexico and to support businesses for so many years,” said Kevin Hart, Gran Coramino Co-founder. “I am thrilled to begin building this new Gran Coramino give-back program together.”

“Investing back in our communities, particularly new business owners and entrepreneurs, is very important to me and Kevin. We are proud to be donating $1 from every bottle sold of Gran Coramino to support entrepreneurs and small business programs in Tequila, Mexico where Gran Coramino is made, and with partners like LISC who will help us build programs to support diverse entrepreneurs from across the US,” said Juan Domingo Beckmann, Gran Coramino Tequila Co-founder.

LISC is a national nonprofit community development organization that has invested $27 billion over the last four decades to catalyze economic opportunity in underserved communities, including support for businesses, affordable housing, health, safety, education and jobs.

Throughout its history, LISC has directly tackled race and class barriers that keep people and businesses from reaching their full potential. The LISC Project 10X initiative, for example, is investing $1 billion to address systemic racial disparities throughout the country, and the LISC small business team is working with minority owners to bridge financing gaps and help grow a wide range of enterprises, from grocery stores and childcare centers to small manufacturing companies and real estate developers.

“Small businesses are the economic backbone of our communities. It is crucial that we work to break down racial barriers to success and invest in equitable growth.”
— Denise Scott, LISC president

Since the onset of the pandemic, LISC has also provided more than $240 million in grants to help sustain women-and-minority-led businesses that did not otherwise have access to relief and recovery funds.

“Small businesses are the economic backbone of our communities,” said LISC’s president, Denise Scott. “It is crucial that we work to break down racial barriers to success and invest in equitable growth. We are excited to be partnering with Gran Coramino Tequila to support entrepreneurs who create jobs, provide goods and services to their communities, and power vibrant local economies.”

LISC will be working with the Gran Coramino Tequila team in the months to come to outline new opportunities for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs.
