Our Stories

LISC and Global Citizen (and Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder and...) Partner to Fight Covid-19

LISC is proud to announce a new partnership with Global Citizen to ramp up our urgent response to the devastating health and economic impact of the pandemic on underinvested communities across the country. On Saturday, April 18, Global Citizen featured LISC as one of of their local partners during "Together at Home," a star-packed, all-day entertainment and information extravaganza to raise awareness about the impact of Covid-19 (and we got a shout-out from none other than Alicia Keys).

LISC is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration as part of our response to COVID-19 and its devastating fallout for the communities where we work. We have partnered with Global Citizen, the international, music-driven platform that raises awareness around extreme poverty, and connects people with nonprofits like ours that forge opportunity for people and communities.

Alicia Keys gives a shout-out to LISC and small businesses on “Together at Home”

This Saturday, April 18, Global Citizen presents One World: Together at Home, a day-long, digital and televised extravaganza featuring performances by more than 70 artists—from Alicia Keys, Billy Eilish and Paul McCartney to Usher, Taylor Swift and Stevie Wonder—and stories from the frontline workers delivering relief.

Together with Global Citizen and corporate partners, we have fully mobilized to get resources and support out the door to communities reeling from the public health and economic devastation of the coronavirus. Our Rapid Relief & Resiliency Fund is delivering urgently-needed capital and tech support to minority- and woman-owned small businesses and to thousands of community-based organizations serving residents all across the country who are being hit hardest by the crisis.

We can't wait to watch One World: Together at Home with you. And we hope you'll join us in taking on the enormous challenges that underserved communities face in this pandemic, and in building strength and equity for our collective future.
