Thrive, Kansas City’s signature community development celebration, is a one-of-a-kind experience that brings the community together to recognize individuals and organizations working tirelessly to invest in Kansas City neighborhoods and people. LISC is proud to celebrate these community heroes, who make sure that people from all corners of our city have the opportunity to thrive!
Our 2023 Thrive: A Celebration of Community Development will return to its original format by celebrating those in our community that are making a difference on the ground. Please join us for this in-person event, on Thursday, November 9th at the Urban Youth Academy located in the historic 18th and Vine District of Kansas City, Missouri.
LISC Greater Kansas City is thrilled to be celebrating 40 years of community development in our region. On Thursday, October 13th, we will bring together changemakers from our neighborhoods, community-based organizations, and corporate, philanthropic, and civic institutions who work tirelessly to empower our communities. LISC Greater Kansas City’s annual community development celebration, Thrive, has been a tremendous success over the past four years. This year’s theme will be “Thrive: The Road to 40” in tribute to LISC’s engagement in the Kansas City community for 40 years.

Thrive: Spotlight, a vertual event. Over the course of nine weeks starting September 28, LISC Greater Kansas City spotlighted organizations and individuals that have gone above and beyond, been on the front lines, and ultimately are some of the unsung heroes in Kansas City.

More than 300 people from across the metro came out to salute seven of the best and brightest leaders and organizations at the Second Annual Thrive community development celebration. Presented by KCP&L, guests were greeted with dance performances by Key Polynesia, and artists associated with Artists Helping the Homeless.

Over 300 people came together to celebrate our six honorees, enjoy delicious KC eats, and toast to community development in Kansas City.
