Creating neighborhoods of opportunity and choice, where every person has the chance to thrive.
With residents and partners, LISC forges resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity across America – great places to live, work, do business, and raise families.
Philadelphia LISC is a catalyst for community change, working with partners to strengthen neighborhoods and improve the lives of residents.
We combine corporate, government, and philanthropic resources to equip underserved communities with the capital, strategy and know-how to become places where people can thrive. Our toolkit is extensive. It includes loans, grants, equity investments, capacity building, and is informed by on-the-ground experience and a comprehensive approach.
Our Guiding Principles:
Philadelphia’s underserved neighborhoods become better places to live, work, do business and raise families. Since 1980, Philadelphia LISC has invested more than $435 million to build or preserve more than 8,500 affordable homes and to develop more than 2.3 million square feet of retail, community, and educational space.
Because our approach is comprehensive, Philadelphia LISC has developed particular leadership and expertise in a number of programmatic priorities. Learn about our priority programs and areas of expertise.
