PAID FAMILY LEAVE – SMALL BUSINESS

The Paid Family Leave Small Business Grant will provide to California Small Businesses of less than 10 employees $500 for each employee who is utilizing the PFL Program, up to a total of $4,500 per small business, to help offset the costs involved with training other employees to cover the duties of this individual on leave.

SO GAL BLACK ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Black women founders are the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs out of any throughout history. These founders are best equipped to solve some of the world’s largest unmet needs. However, Black women entrepreneurs are met with the greatest barriers to accessing capital. SoGal Foundation has teamed up with other sponsors to make a small step towards progress by providing several $10K and $5K cash grants to Black women or nonbinary entrepreneurs.

STATE OF CA DREAM FUND

The California Dream Fund is a one-time $35 million grant program to seed entrepreneurship and small business creation in the State of California. New entrepreneurs and small business owners will complete an intensive training program through select participating centers of the Technical Assistance Expansion Program (TAEP). Following successful completion of the training and consulting program, new businesses will be eligible to apply for a microgrant of up to $10,000.

HOMELESS HIRING TAX CREDIT

The credit is available for taxable years beginning January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2026. Employers may receive $2,500 to $10,000 in tax credit per eligible employee based on hours worked in the taxable year.

To be eligible, the employee must be certified by a certifying organization. Employers must make a tentative credit reservation with us to claim the credit. Employers will claim the credit when they file their tax return.

PCR METRO BUSINESS INTERRUPTION FUND

Metro’s BIF is administered as a pilot program in partnership with PCR. PCR uses the BIF to provide financial assistance to small “mom and pop” businesses impacted by transit rail construction along the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, the Little Tokyo Regional Connector with its 2nd/Broadway segment, and Section 1, Section 2 and Section 3 of the Purple Line Extension.

Metro’s goal through the BIF is to help small businesses continue to thrive throughout construction and post construction.
