STOP School Violence

The Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Students Teachers and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Grant Program is designed to improve K-12 school security by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence and ensure a positive school climate.

LISC Safety & Justice supports schools to partner effectively with community violence intervention (CVI) practitioners to reduce violent crime in and around schools in communities nationwide. We offer a range of resources for schools, including webinars, knowledge sharing materials, and examples of best practices from experts in the field. We leverage the knowledge of our staff and subject matter experts to train schools to understand what CVI approaches look like, how they apply to school settings, and how they support complementary school and community safety approaches. We're helping schools increase their capacity to develop collaborative solutions to school/community violence challenges and sustain their successes for more a promising future.
