INVEST South/West Corridor Manager Program

As a critical component of the City of Chicago’s INVEST South/West initiative, Corridor Managers engage stakeholders and promote economic development along designated commercial corridors. By increasing the number of diverse businesses along these Priority Corridors and linking existing small businesses to available economic programs, INVEST South/West Corridor Managers reduce vacant spaces while increasing community participation and safe pedestrian traffic in the community.

Community Navigators Pilot Program

The Community Navigator Pilot Program lowers the barriers facing small business owners in underinvested communities. LISC acts as a “hub,” coordinating local sub-grantees and supporting planning and peer learning, and helping hire personnel to provide access to SBA programs. Five business development organizations in Chicago are the “spokes,” serving as trusted ambassadors to underinvested communities, guiding business owners in accessing SBA and other resources through outreach and relationship-building.
